Havana, Feb 8, (RHC), -- Colombia's Revolutionary Armed Forces refused to declare a new unilateral ceasefire during upcoming legislative elections in March, but they reiterated their request for a bilateral ceasefire.

During the current round of peace talks in Havana, guerrilla representative Andres Paris said that they maintain their proposal for a bilateral ceasefire, which has been rejected by the Colombian government, and the signing of a humanitarian accord.

Paris also said that the guerrilla is following up on the scandal of a presumed espionage by sectors of the Colombian army against the peace talks, that have been underway in Havana since November 2012. He said that corruption and scandals such as the presumed espionage against representatives of the government and the guerrilla at the talks, threaten the peace process.

According to Colombia's Semana magazine, sectors of the army set up an office in 2012, in Bogota, to intercept the communications of representatives of the Colombian government at the peace talks.
