Lisbon, November 16 (RHC)-- Thousands of teachers gathered in front of the Portuguese parliament in Lisbon on Wednesday as part of a strike over measures to be included in the 2018 budget, which could disregard up to 10 years of their total time served.
The measures planned in the 2018 budget proposal would mean that work carried out by teachers between August 31, 2005 and December 31, 2007 and January 2011 and December 31, 2018 will not be counted and would save the government 650 million euros -- but at the expense of taking from the workers what is rightfully theirs.
