Caracas, March 30 (RHC)-- The National Electoral Council of Venezuela approved on Thursday the final Electoral Registry for the upcoming presidential, legislative and municipal elections, set for May 20th.
A press release issued by the commission states that some 20,520,000 Venezuelans are called on to cast their ballots on election date to choose the president and representatives in the state legislative councils.
It added that foreigners with more than ten years of residence in the country will be able to vote next May 20th.
The cutoff for the Electoral Registry is based on voter data gathered up until March 10th, when the registration process for new voters and the updating of data was closed.
The data gathering process was audited by political organizations with candidates running in the new elections.
