Moscow, May 28 (PL-RHC) -- Important mutually-beneficial agreements are expected to be signed during the state visit to Russia this week by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elías Jaua, according to a diplomatic source.
Jaua will meet with his counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, and preside over the plenary of the 10th Session of the High Level Inter-Governmental Commission on May 30th along with Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov, according to a note from the Venezuelan Embassy in Moscow.
The work of the Commission will be crowned by the signing of documents expected to broaden Moscow-Caracas collaboration in multiple fields, added the source.
Preparations for the cooperation forum included a meeting in Moscow of the Subcommittee of Foreign Policy, presided over by Deputy Foreign Minister Calixto Ortega and Venezuelan Ambassador Juan Vicente Paredes.
The Russian team is led by Alexander Shetinin and Sergei Koshkin, Director and Deputy Director of the Latin American Department of the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.
