Quito, February 3 (RHC)-- The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Ecuador, Diana Atamaint, in an exclusive interview with the program "En Clave Política" broadcast on teleSUR, affirmed that all political organizations are guaranteed transparency in the February 7th elections.

"There is no condition to suspend elections or to stop holding them.  The conditions and protocols have been reviewed with the World Health Organization," indicated the president of the Ecuadorian CNE.  In the framework of the COVID-19 pandemic, Atamaint asserted that they spoke with local governments to allow the respect of biosecurity norms.  She said that "street sales are prohibited, it is forbidden to stay inside the premises and candidates have the limit of being accompanied by eight people."

"We have had the assistance and international cooperation of the United Nations, European Union (EU) and allied countries that accompany us in this change of computer system.  We are much better prepared," said Atamaint.

To guarantee the transparency of the process, the president of the CNE reminded that all political forces have specialist auditors.  "We are ready and sure that the results will be respected."
