Caracas, February 12 (RHC)-- The Puebla Group released on its digital site and social networks a progressive manifesto that promotes the debate and the construction of a collective and alternative political project in Latin America and the Caribbean against the neoliberal model.

The document examines issues such as democracy, the State, citizenship building, social justice, the COVID pandemic, job creation, judicial persecution, regional integration and the need to defend Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba from attacks by the right and the oligarchy, among others.

Likewise, in 33 points, it proposes the establishment of a development model based on solidarity as a starting point to consolidate democracy, reduce inequality, allow the real enjoyment of human rights and contribute to the stable growth of economies.

In this sense, the proposals contained in the document to return to the State the active and leading role it once had, to stimulate the social responsibility of the market, to review privatizations and to promote more public control are relevant.

Also noteworthy is the invitation to promote equality, eliminate poverty, create decent jobs, increase salaries and move towards more inclusive social policies, as well as to establish a Basic Solidarity Income to protect citizens.
