Tegucigalpa, March 15 (RHC)-- Presidential pre-candidates Xiomara Castro, of the Liberty and Refoundation Party (Libre), Yani Rosenthal, of the Liberal Party (PL), and Nasry Asfura, of the National Party (PN, in power), would be the virtual winners of the primary elections held this Sunday in Honduras.

According to exit polls, conducted by various media, among them Emisoras Unidas and Televicentro, Xiomara Castro -- wife of former President Manuel Zelaya -- would have 78.8 percent of the votes of her supporters.

Rosenthal, on the other hand, would have obtained 47.4 percent of the votes of the Liberal Party militants, while Asfura would obtain 68 percent of the votes of the Nationalists.

The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Ana Paola Hall, reported that the official results of the primaries, which served to choose the candidates who will participate in the general elections of next November 28th, will begin to be reported on Monday.  "We are going to start giving results tomorrow (Monday) through bulletins every two hours, as the different ballot boxes of the Electoral Receiving Tables (MER) come in", said Hall, in a press conference.

The Presidential Councilor estimated that within four or five days they will be able to give "the presidential result in the different movements."
