Bogota, March 18 (RHC)-- The Institute of Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz) of Colombia reports that in the village of El Plateado in the Cacan municipality of Argelia, a massacre took place that claimed the lives of at least five people.
Indepaz reports that the mass killing took place continuously in three different places of the village, and that among the victims there were four men and one woman, whose details have not been disclosed so far.
Other media emphasize that two of the victims were found lifeless, with handcuffs and with signs of having been shot.
Both the authorities of the municipality and the Attorney General's Office were informed of these facts. However, so far no details have been released about the investigation into their disappearance.
According to Indepaz, this would be the 17th massacre registered in the country so far in 2021. This manifestation of violence continues with an upward trend, after more than 90 were recorded in 2020.
