Massive demonstration today in Bogota against repression

Bogota, May 12 (RHC)-- In Colombia, the National Strike Committee has called for a massive demonstration today after the failure of the meeting held between protest leaders and Colombian President Ivan Duque.

The group issued the call to increase the peaceful protest movemetn with strict compliance with biosecurity and health measures, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  At the same time, organizers urged people to take the streets without fear of the repressive machinery of the Duque government.

The objective is that the government listens to the call of the people, modifies its position and stops the barbarism, in order to be able to attend and negotiate with all the social sectors and citizens who are mobilizing, according to the top leaders.
