585,000 Pfizer vaccines against COVID-19 arrive in Mexico

Mexico City, May 19 (RHC)-- The Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard, confirmed on Wednesday the arrival to the country of a flight with a batch of Pfizer vaccines to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico.

"At this moment, the shipment of 585,000 Pfizer vaccines is landing, bringing Mexico's total to 30 million 252,595 doses," said Foreign Minister Ebrard.  According to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, in addition to the arrival of the new doses, in the next few weeks the country will have more than 40 million vaccines to combat the pandemic.

Within the framework of the arrival of these new vaccines in Mexico, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) informed that the first batch of AstraZeneca doses produced by Mexico and Argentina will be ready on May 24th.
