U.S. military presence destabilizes the situation in Syria

Damascus, June 27 (RHC)-- The head of the Political Department of the Syrian Army, Major General Hassan Suleiman, affirmed today that the illegal presence of U.S. forces is the main factor of instability and the spread of terrorism in the country.

"These troops support with weapons, money and training the terrorists of the Islamic State organization (Daesh, in Arabic) to ensure their survival as long as possible in Syrian territory," denounced the General in a press conference in Damascus.

He added that the Pentagon continues its aggressive and terrorist policies towards the Syrian people and persists in plundering its oil, wheat and natural wealth, in coordination with mercenary separatist militias.

The Syrian military officer recalled that the Syrian Military Prosecutor's Office showed with photographs and documents that Washington resorted to the use of terrorist agents on the ground to attack the Syrian and Russian armies.

According to General Suleiman, the U.S. military presence without the consent of the Syrian government is a military aggression and occupation that contradicts the United Nations Charter.

He reiterated that the Syrian armed forces, in cooperation with the Russian army, are determined to continue the performance of their tasks in the fight against terrorism until its complete eradication.
