Delcy Rodriguez condemns Colombian paramilitary mercenaries in Venezuela
Caracas, July 11 (RHC)-- Venezuela's Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported over the bweekend that during the deployment of Operation Gran Cacique Indio Guaicaipuro in the southwest of Caracas, three Colombian paramilitaries were captued. The vice president said that the Colombian mercenaries had created anxiety and distress in Cota 905, El Paraíso, El Valle and El Cementerio.
Delcy Rodriguez noted that these armed criminal groups, backed by the United States and Colombia, were dismantled, while denouncing that these criminal gangs sought to destabilize the country. While making a balance of the Operation Gran Cacique Indio Guaicaipuro which was deployed since July 7 in the southwest of the capital, Rodríguez indicated that the armed actions seek to create anxiety and distress in the population.
At the same time, she pointed out that these criminal gangs developed violent actions in Cota 905, El Cementerio, El Paraíso and El Valle to "undermine the rule of law and the institutionality of the security agencies."
The Venezuelan vice president denounced that these actions have been planned since March 16 with the visit of the head of the U.S. Southern Command to Colombia, Craig Faller, in order to "establish coordination with groups of the Colombian armed forces," and then with the recent visit on June 29th of the director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Williams Burns.
Subsequently, he indicated that these acts were also related to the assassination of the president of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse, where 26 Colombians who participated in this assassination were captured.
Likewise, he specified that these irregular groups are related to the opponent Juan Guaidó, since the AP agency reported that the mercenary company that hired the Colombians involved in the assassination in Haiti is owned by the Venezuelan opposition activist Antonio Intriago, based in Florida.
In addition, he made reference to a message disseminated through Twitter by opposition member Freddy Guevara where he affirms that "only with a political agreement endorsed by the international community, the State will be able to recover the territorial control of the country."
