Dilma Rousseff, Official Candidate to Brazil’s Presidential Elections

Havana, June 23 (RHC) Current Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff, from the ruling Workers’ Party (PT), is an official candidate to Brazil’s presidential elections slated to take place in October.

“Brazil wants to keep changing and led by those who have proven their capacity to deeply transform the country and improve the quality of life of our people,” said Rousseff during a convention of her party, in which she was accompanied by former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, PL news agency reported.

The Workers’ Party of Brazil is the largest leftist political party in Laitn America, which has ruled the South American nation since 2003. The political organization aims to achieving a new historic stage based on educational changes and the transformation of public services and the federal system.

As to the Workers’ Party Campaign, the leader of the political organization, Rui Falcao, stressed the need to implement the reform of the current electoral and political system and the democratization of the media.
