Caracas, August 13 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro reiterated Thursday the willingness of his government to participate in the dialogue process with sectors of the opposition to be held in Mexico, in an autonomous and independent manner.

The president ratified that dialogue is the best way to recover the united homeland and achieve reconciliation, after the various calls he has made during his administration to talk with all sectors of the country.

"Venezuela does not submit to blackmail or threats from the Government of the United States. You do what you have to do.  We will do what we have to do for happiness, independence and peace."  The Venezuelan president also thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and the Government of Mexico for their role as facilitators in this process, which has already culminated its exploratory talks prior to the beginning of the dialogue.

President Maduro emphasized that the purpose of the dialogue with sectors of the extremist opposition will be to find "sovereign solutions among Venezuelans," taking into account the conditions set out weeks ago.

Among the points mentioned is the lifting of the coercive measures illegally imposed against the country; the recognition of the legitimacy of the Public Powers of the State and the return of the blocked resources that belong to Venezuelans.
