Detroit, August 27 (RHC)-- In the U.S. state of Michigan, a federal judge has disciplined nine pro-Trump attorneys, including Sidney Powell and Lin Wood, over their unsubstantiated claims in a lawsuit falsely claiming that the 2020 election was stolen.

According to the ruling, the lawyers will have to pay the legal fees for the city of Detroit and other defendants, and they face sanctions that could lead to their disbarment.

In other news from Michigan, 25-year-old Ty Garbin was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison for his role in plotting to kidnap Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer last year.

Garbin was the first of 14 men arrested over the plot to be sentenced, and received a reduced penalty after he agreed to cooperate with federal investigators.
