Parts of Louisiana remain underwater more than a week after Hurricane Ida struck as one of the most powerful storms ever to hit the United States. 

New Orleans, September 7 (RHC)-- In the U.S., parts of Louisiana remain underwater more than a week after Hurricane Ida struck as one of the most powerful storms ever to hit the United States. 

More than 600,000 electricity customers in Louisiana still have no power. The storm’s death toll rose over the weekend to 63.  At least 50 deaths came in the northeastern U.S. as Ida’s remnants brought record rainfall and flash flooding.
