Gaza City, June 28 (RHC)-- At least two Palestinians have been killed and several others injured in an Israeli drone strike on the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to Israel Air Force, the two men, both senior members of Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, were killed while driving in a civilian vehicle near Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh's home.

The defense establishment said that the two – Muhammad al-Fasih and Usama al-Hassumi – had been involved in rocket launchings into Israel in recent weeks.

According to a spokesman from the Hamas militant group, that rules the Gaza Strip, Israeli military tanks reportedly fired shells into the agricultural areas of the southern city of Khan Yunis earlier on Friday, wounding several Palestinians, including a pregnant woman.

Israel says the attacks come in retaliation for rocket attacks launched from Gaza in recent days by jihadists from Hamas military wing and other extremist organizations.
