Managua, October 13 (RHC)-- Nicaraguan press media are highlighting that the Supreme Electoral Council (CSE) approved the Manual for the Voting Process to be used during the general elections of next November 7, when the President of the country, the members of the National Assembly and the representatives in the Central American Parliament will be elected.

According to a press release from the Electoral Power, it is a "detailed guide of the functions and technical procedures that will govern before, during and after voting day."  In addition, it describes the appropriate use of documents and substantive and complementary resources for the exercise of suffrage and other related activities".

The 64-page text establishes a group of biosecurity measures to avoid Covid-19 contagions during voting, such as the use of sanitary masks, the practice of physical distancing, disinfection of premises and others.

The manual will also assist the work of the personnel appointed in the Voting Centers (CV) and Voting Reception Boards (JRV).

In this regard, the magistrate of the CSE, Adriana Molina, informed that this Thursday the members of the 13,459 JRVs that will operate in the 3,016 CVs of the country will be appointed.

As a novelty, she advanced that in order to guarantee gender equity in the electoral process, a woman and a man will be appointed as coordinators in each CV, therefore there will be two people in that function and not one, as stipulated by the current Electoral Law.

In addition, the CSE informed that more than 30,000 citizens are being trained on a voluntary basis to contribute on election day, in the JRVs, to the order, peace and tranquility of the electoral process.

Molina reminded that last October 8 was the deadline for the presentation of the political parties' prosecutors, which were accredited through a digital platform.
