Buenos Aires, May 25 (RHC)-- The president of Argentina, Alberto Fernandez, presented this week the new banknotes of legal tender that will replace the images of animals with illustrations of relevant figures of the national history, which will be in circulation within six months.

In this regard, at the request of the government, the Central Bank and the Mint are jointly collaborating in the inclusion of heroes such as Manuel Belgrano, Remedios del Valle, José de San Martín, Juana Azurduy, Martín Miguel de Güemes and Eva Perón.

According to the Federal Administrator of Public Revenues and former president of the Bank, Mercedes Marcó, the political decision constitutes an enormous symbolic value and rescues the Argentinean identity.

"The Fathers of the Fatherland and the Mothers of the Motherland have returned to Argentine currency.  We are celebrating our best men and women who gave everything to make this country what it is", said the Head of State.

President Fernandez also added that the new series represents a primordial step for the legacy of those who fought for the sovereignty of the homeland to continue in force, and mocks the actions of those who hope to erase history.

The Argentinean president said> "The political decision to change our heroines and heroes for animals is linked to a neoliberal conception, which is an obstacle to the construction of an inclusive, developed, fair and equitable nation." stressed the president.
