Brasilia, November 2 (RHC)-- While the transition of government between the teams appointed by Brazil's president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the outgoing president Jair Bolsonaro is beginning, Bolsonaro's followers staged a rally in a military barracks in Rio de Janeiro to question the election results.

As the blockade of anti-democratic carriers on the roads of the South American country decreases, his followers in Rio de Janeiro went to the door of the Military Command in Rio de Janeiro to ask for a military intervention.   With shouts like "Federal Intervention Now" and banners like "Armed Forces Save Our Brazil," the right-wing demonstrators questioned the results of Sunday's elections.

These groups made the salute with the raised right arm, which is typical of fascist and Nazi organizations and is forbidden in several countries of the world.

The vice president of Brazil, Hamilton Mourao, pronounced himself on Bolsonaro's defeat in last Sunday's presidential elections, which gave Lula da Silva as the winner, and pointed out that by agreeing to participate in those elections, what his followers should do now is to recognize that they lost.

"We agreed to participate in a game that the other player (Lula) should not be playing.  But if we agreed, there is nothing more to complain about.  From that point on, there is no more use crying, we lost the game," he indicated.

Although Bolsonaro did not mention Lula in his brief message on Tuesday, he made a call to defend the Constitution and the rule of law in Brazil.  Mourao pointed out that he does not agree with the argument that the elections were manipulated and that there was fraud. "We agreed to participate in the game. I do not consider that there was fraud in the election," he expressed.

The outgoing vice president also highlighted that Bolsonaro accepted the electoral defeat "calm" and "serene."   In the protest, which was called by WhatsApp and Telegram groups, many of the participants repeated the false news that reached them on their cell phones.

In Sao Paulo, this type of demonstrations were also registered to carry out a "vigil" in the same sense that the elections be annulled.
