Health authorities in Dominican Republic report 469 new cases of COVID-19

Santo Domingo, December 9 (RHC)-- The Ministry of Public Health of the Dominican Republic has reported that in the last 24 hours, 469 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in that country.  With report 993 of the General Directorate of Epidemiology, the Ministry reported that 3,365 samples were processed, and with the new figures, 2,000 patients remain active.

Over the last four weeks, the daily positivity rate has been 6.30 percent, while the lethality rate has been 0.68 percent.  Dominican Republic registered 469 new COVID-19 infections in the last hours, according to the Ministry of Public Health.

The entity further detailed that 47 people are hospitalized, there are only 10 beds occupied in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) out of an availability of 585, and there are no patients requiring assisted ventilation.  Of the new cases reported, 238 reside in the National District and 136 in the province of Santo Domingo.  The report states that no deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Dominican Republic has reported 652,529 infections and 4,384 deaths.
