Brasilia, January 2 (RHC)-- Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva revoked more than a dozen decrees signed during the government of his predecessor, Jair Bolsonaro, in one of his first acts after taking office as Brazilian President.

The decrees suspend the policy of flexibility for the acquisition of arms and the immediate withdrawal of the privatization program of the oil company Petrobras and of the logistics company Correios and Empresa Brasileira de Comunicação (EBC), the public media network.

Lula, on the one hand, has determined that the General Controller of the Union (CGU) would have to reevaluate within 30 days the secrecy imposed for 100 years on documents and information of the Public Administration, a decision of Bolsonaro.

As reported in a statement by Lula's press team, the Amazonia Fund, a fund of international donations commanded by Norway and Germany that had been scorned by Bolsonaro's government aimed at the productive development of Amazonian communities, was also reestablished.

The Brazilian leader has signed several provisional measures, one of which guarantees the payment of 600 Brazilian reais (106 euros) to families enrolled in the current Auxilio Brasil program and which, from now on, will be renamed Bolsa Familia; the second extends the tax exemption on fuel; and the third restructures the Government by increasing the number of ministries. 

In addition, Lula has ordered his ministers to submit proposals to remove public companies such as the oil company Petrobras or the postal service Correios from the privatization project.
