Brasilia, January 22 (RHC)-- The head of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) of Brazil, Judge Alexandre de Moraes, has authorized search actions on properties belonging to the former governor of the Federal District (DF), Ibaneis Rocha and his former executive secretary of Public Security, Fernando de Souza Oliveira, official sources report.

Agents of the Attorney General's Office (PGR) and the Federal Police executed five search and seizure warrants on the Buriti Palace, headquarters of the DF in Brasilia, the lawyers' office, the house of the former Bolsonaro governor, the Secretariat of Public Security and the residence of the former official.

The two defendants are being investigated by the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine the conduct of the state commanders who allowed the assault against the three emblematic seats of political power in Brasília: the Planalto Palace, the Congress and the Supreme Court.

The search warrant against Ibaneis and de Souza Oliveira was requested by the Strategic Group for Combating Anti-Democratic Acts of the PGR as part of the investigations related to the assault by supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro against three public authorities on January 8th.

According to local media, the prosecutors involved in the case aim to collect evidence to help clarify why the authorities did not take measures to prevent the vandalism unleashed by the Bolsonaristas.
