At least 29 buildings collapse in Turkey in new earthquake as overall death toll tops 50,000
Ankara, March 1 (RHC)-- In Turkey, at least one person was killed when another earthquake shook the country’s southeast region. Twenty-nine buildings collapsed in the tremor, which came three weeks after a devastating pair of quakes killed over 50,000 in Turkey and Syria.
Earlier this week, the head of the World Food Program David Beasley described the situation in southern Turkey as “apocalyptic.” He said: “The scale of devastation here is truly incomprehensible.”
