Germany deploys maximum security to receive King Charles III and Camila

Havana, March 29 (RHC) More than a thousand security agents are deployed in Berlin to receive King Charles III of England and his wife Camila this Wednesday on their first official trip since accession to the throne.

This will also be the first time that a state guest will receive military honors at the foot of the iconic Brandenburg Gate, where the British monarch will speak directly to about 1,500 Berliners authorized to enter the area.

In Berlin they will be received by the German head of state, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender, at Bellevue Palace, the German presidential residence, where an official banquet will be held in their honour.

As part of his agenda in the German capital, King Charles III will hold a dialogue with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, visit a market with the city's mayoress, and deliver a speech before deputies.

The British royal couple's trip to Germany will conclude on Friday with a trip to Hamburg, the country's second largest city.

Charles III knows Germany well, where he has arrived on more than 40 occasions, according to the British embassy here. (Source: PL)
