The president pointed out that the battle for the Malvinas Islands makes sense and has not ended

Havana, April 2 (RHC) Argentinian President Alberto Fernández, asserted this Sunday in Buenos Aires that the Malvinas Islands were, are and will always belong to Argentina "and those who fought for them are heroes of our country."

During an act for the National Day of the Veteran and the Fallen in the war against the United Kingdom for that territory, in the Buenos Aires municipality of Almirante Brown, the president pointed out that the battle undertaken makes sense and has not ended.

"We will recover our islands by peaceful means and we will raise our voice until the world listens to us," he said.

He recalled that 2023 marks the 41st anniversary of the war and the 200th anniversary of the British usurpation of the Malvinas.

“That forces us to stand firmer than ever, to redouble our efforts before international organizations to claim the sovereignty that is ours. We will never stop demanding respect for our rights. We must recover the islands using diplomatic channels as directed by the United Nations Organization”, added Fernández.

He emphasized that in the 21st century the colonialist logic cannot be accepted and demanded that London return to the talks table. (Source: Prensa Latina)
