Bogotá, August 26 (RHC) -- Three Colombian soldiers were killed and four others wounded Monday in a battle with combatants of the rebel Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) in the northeastern Arauca Department.
The FARC guerrilla also detonated explosives planted on the road linking the towns of Tame and Fortul in Arauca department, causing a traffic delay between the two towns. The insurgent group has increased action against government targets in Arauca Department in recent days.
Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos began peace talks with FARC, the country's largest rebel group, in December 2012 in Cuba. The latest round of peace talks are underway in Havana. /Source: Xinhua
