A call in France is made to emancipate it from the US and NATO

Havana, April 10 (RHC) - The leader of the French Communists, Fabien Roussel, considered this Monday at the closing of the 39th congress of the organization that the country must rediscover sovereignty in its foreign policy, emancipating itself from the United States and NATO.

In his opinion, that would be one of the necessary issues for France to be free, summarizing the projections outlined by the French Communist Party (PCF) in the conclave that held sessions for four days in Marseille, where he was ratified in the post of national secretary.

The Communist leader also said that an independent foreign policy would represent the possibility of not having to get involved in conflicts that are not their own.

“The voice of France must be at the service of peace, dialogue, cooperation and collective security”, he declared.

In his speech at the closing of the 39th congress, Roussel urged the Government to work throughout the world so that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia ends and the negotiation for the search for a solution is imposed, which he described as urgent.

Regarding the internal situation, he highlighted the mobilization of the last three months against the retirement reform and lashed out at President Emmanuel Macron for maintaining it despite the rejection of the unions and the population in general.

According to the national secretary of the PCF, France is the scene of a class struggle imposed by the rich, and when workers and those affected by capitalism resist, they try to silence them with force.

For the Communist leader, the challenge is to build an alternative of progress to defeat the extreme right and guarantee a free, strong and happy France, far from predatory capital, corruption, drug, arms and human trafficking, financial dominance and tax fraud that squanders public resources.

“That is our pact, that is our proposal to the French”, said the leader, who advocated for new social treaties, based on cooperation and respect for workers, the environment and public services. (Source: Prensa Latina)
