Philippine president will pay official visit to the United States

 

Havana, April 21 (RHC) - Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr will travel to Washington to meet with his US counterpart Joe Biden on May 1.

 

According to Philippines’s Presidential Palace, the two rulers will review opportunities to deepen economic cooperation and promote inclusive prosperity, expand special people-to-people ties, invest in clean energy transition and fight climate change.

 

Marcos will be in the United States from April 30 to May 4 on an official working visit, during which he will also meet with members of the Filipino community, US legislators, major US corporations and business organizations.

 

The White House confirmed the upcoming arrival of the Philippine leader in Washington and announced that at the meeting, Biden will reaffirm the United States' commitment to the defense of the Philippines and will discuss with Marcos the efforts to strengthen the alliance of the two nations.

 

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre announced that the bilateral talks between the heads of state will be followed by an expanded meeting with key US cabinet officials. (Source: Prensa Latina)
