Caracas, September 8 (PL-RHC) -- The recent reshuffle in Venezuela's Cabinet will contribute to reinforce its performance and address strategic needs countrywide, but it will take some time, said the Governor of Zulia, Francisco Arias.
Some people want immediate measures to solve problems, but the new cabinet team will implement all necessary actions, he said. In a television program, Arias stated that priorities include the deployment of forces in order to wipe out border smuggling.
Another priority is the implementation of mechanisms to regulate the distribution of food and fuel, he said, noting that mafias involved in illegal trade with Colombia will eventually be eliminated.
He reiterated the Government's plans to introduce the biometric system to control food distribution would have the desired effect of curbing hoarding and smuggling. Arias urged the people to join hands with the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the Bolivarian National Armed Force to meet these challenges.
