Tegucigalpa, August 12 (RHC) President of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, has called for a national mobilization starting on the 29th of this month to demand compliance with the constitutional mandate to elect new authorities in the Public Ministry.
During the inauguration of a multi-purpose sports court as part of a project to promote sports development in the Central American nation, the President stated that the National Congress is under attack.
She added that this week the Legislative branch has been subjected to a boycott by those who do not want transparency, oppose the fight against corruption, and seek to prevent the election of the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General of Honduras, as mandated by the Constitution.
On another note, the Head of State announced that the United Nations expert team will arrive in the country next Sunday to continue the establishment of the International Commission against Impunity in Honduras. (Source: Prensa Latina)
