Organizations march in Paraguay during presidential swearing in ceremony

Asuncion, August 16 (RHC)-- Social, political, trade union, human rights, peasant and Indigenous Paraguayan organizations mobilized this Tuesday in the capital of the South American country in the middle of the official acts for the inauguration of Santiago Peña as president of Paraguay.

According to the organizers of "El otro 15 Agosto", among the demand of the new president include fair salaries, respect for all labor rights and a decent retirement pension.

This Tuesday, August 15th, begins another period of government of the bosses with a party in which the workers are not part of, stated the protesters.  

The general secretary of the Paraguayan Communist Party (PCP), Najeeb Amado, emphasized that the workers of the country have their rights violated.  And, in view of these facts, he called for the unity of all sectors to turn the situation around.

Among those calling for the mobilization at the swearing in ceremony were the Class Union Action (ASC), (JRF), Citizen Participation Party (PPC), Social Platform for Human Rights, Memory and Democracy.
