United Nations, June 18 (RHC)-- A senior United Nations official confirms that there is a politicization of aid for the besieged territory.  The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, emphasized that Israel has turned the besieged poor sector into hell on earth.

The senior official denounced that delivering humanitarian aid to the residents of the besieged territory, who are on the verge of famine, is almost impossible.

In that sense, he stated that civilians and infrastructure in Gaza are subjected to excessive damage; Meanwhile, there is a politicization of aid amid the spread of hunger and disease.

Martin Griffiths noted that humanitarian and United Nations workers have been killed by the occupation in unreasonable numbers.  He also criticized the fact that weapons continued to reach Israel from the United States and other countries, despite the terrible impact of the war on civilians in Gaza.

The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs said that the number of Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza exceeds 37,337, while those injured stand at 85,299, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
