Washington, July 3 (RHC)-- An open letter penned by 12 officials to publicly resign from the Biden administration over the war on Gaza has accused the US government of “complicity in the killings” of Palestinians.

“America’s diplomatic cover for, and continuous flow of arms to, Israel has ensured our undeniable complicity in the killings and forced starvation of a besieged Palestinian population in Gaza,” the former officials said in their joint letter.

Earlier we reported that Tariq Habash, a former Department of Education staffer and the first Biden administration political appointee to publicly resign over the war, had posted the statement accusing the US of “catastrophic failure in Gaza”.

The former staffers also urged the US to use its “necessary and available leverage” to bring the war to an end, ensure the release of Israeli captives in Gaza and Palestinian prisoners in Israel, as well as fund an “immediate expansion of humanitarian assistance”.
