Gaza City, August 24 (RHC)-- There has been heavy shelling by the Israeli army in northern Gaza where attacks have focused on the Beit Lahiya area and Jabalia, which was once the enclave’s largest refugee camp.

Israel’s military issues fresh orders for residents to evacuate neighborhoods in northern Gaza amid intense Israeli attacks in the north, center and south of the Palestinian territory.

At least nine people, including two children, have been killed and 15 wounded in overnight Israeli shelling of two houses in southern Khan Younis, the Wafa news agency reports.

Meanwhile, the United Nations reports that Palestinian children are “paying the heaviest price” as Gaza faces critical humanitarian aid shortages and spike in malnutrition.

A 10-month-old baby in Gaza is now paralysed due to polio – the first case in the enclave in more than 25 years – the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees has confirmed.
