Caracas, August 25 (RHC)-- Through a statement released this Saturday, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry condemned a statement made by the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrel, who said will the EU will ignore the official results of the Venezuelan elections.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil said those statements “are again sinking that block [the EU, European Union] into the putrefied mud, where they were for a long time when they followed the bizarre experiment of Juan Guaido. It is an example of the hatred and complexity of this official."
Gil said the continued failure of the European Union to respect the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela and its authorities "may result in a new leap into the void that will considerably affect diplomatic relations."
The Venezuelan foeign minister reminded Borrell that “the Bolivarian government will not tolerate any senseless act that violates the principles enshrined in the Constitution and international law, and will appeal to the Bolivarian, anti-colonial and anti-imperialist doctrine.”
Gil called Borrell’s statement “dirty,” adding: “The European Union’s communiqué becomes a vulgar bungling that will be recorded in the annals of global diplomatic shame,” reads the statement.
The statement emphasizes that "the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela once again demands respect for its integrity and calls on the European Union to refrain from issuing any opinion on matters which are the exclusive responsibility of the Venezuelans."
