Managua, September 3 (RHC)-- The president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, expressed solidarity this Monday with Venezuela and Honduras in the face of the constant aggressions against their governments.  The Nicaraguan leader also firmly rejected the genocide that the Israeli regime is committing against the Palestinian people.

When presiding over a ceremony for the 45th anniversary of the constitution of the Nicaraguan Armed Forces, Ortega expressed his solidarity with the Venezuelan people in the face of the recent attacks on the National Electrical System of that South American country.

“They have recently been causing blackouts throughout Venezuela, affecting the population (…) we tell our brother Nicolás Maduro that we are with the Bolivarian people.  We are against the systematic aggressions that they have been committing against the Venezuelan people.”

The Nicaraguan head of state said that the objective of these aggressions is to steal oil from Venezuela, a country that has the largest oil reserves in the world.

The president also expressed his rejection of the interventionist maneuvers against the government of the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro.  “We want to tell President Xiomara that we are with them.  We are in solidarity with the Honduran people (…) it is clearly seen that they want to destroy that government and they want to tarnish the Honduran army,” he said.

The Nicaraguan president also spoke about the ongoing genocidal war of aggression against Gaza and the crimes perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinians.  He also denounced the fact that the U.S. government supports and supplies weapons to the Israelis, who also receive the support of most European nations.
