Caracas, September 17 (RHC)-- The Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, has reported that new military equipment from the United States was seized on Monday, which adds to the seizure of more than 400 rifles and equipment carried out on September 14th.

“All the seized weapons come from the United States,” stressed Cabello, who commented that there was a final seizure that is still in progress, in an interview in which the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, also participated.

On the television program “Con Maduro+,” the minister confirmed that among the new weapons seized are Kalashnikov USA weapons, and stressed that the boxes with the confiscated weapons belong to Century Arms, a company that specializes in importing and manufacturing AK rifle replicas.

A M4A1 model belonging to the family of automatic assault rifles in carbine version and used exclusively by the U.S. military forces was also presented.

Cabello narrated part of the chronology of attacks against the Venezuelan government and people before and after the July 28th elections in the Bolivarian nation, and noted that the aforementioned shipment of weapons was intended to be used on the same date of the elections.

He also stated that there were links with a hacker mafia from Israel, while specifying that when “we captured the first three people involved in the grenade attacks, we found that these criminals were linked to José Miguel Estrada, who is serving a sentence after the assassination attempt against President Nicolás Maduro.” (Source: TeleSur)
