Belmopan, October 28 (RHC-NNN) -- A team of plastic surgeons is slated to arrive in Belize on Saturday, November 1st through collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the World Pediatric Project.
This team will be operating out of the Southern Regional Hospital and will be in Belize to deal with people under the age of 21 who are suffering with facial deformities, breathing problems as a result of facial issues as well as cleft lip and issues involving the palate.
Khandice Tillett is the Project Coordinator at the World Pediatric Office in Belize and explained the medical mission. She said that “for ten years, we’ve had a partnership with the Southern Regional Hospital and the Ministry of Health.”
The team will arrive in the country on Saturday and will be in Dangriga on Sunday doing assessments while surgeries will be conducted Monday through to Thursday.
