Tel Aviv, March 2 (RHC)-- The Israeli military’s “Loot Unit” has seized massive amounts of weaponry, cash, and gold, among other items, since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza, Lebanon and Syria, a new report revealed.
The Israeli daily Ynet, in a report on Friday, said that the unit has seized enough weaponry to establish “a small army.” “We don’t like to just take in loot, keep it, and maintain it without making a profit from it,” admits Lt. Col. Sharon Kotler. “I always ask what the value of this loot is.”
Soldiers from the loot unit stole “mountains of cash” in enemy territory. In one case, the unit seized NIS 4 million (around $1 million) from the private home of a Hamas brigade commander.
The unit consists of roughly 500 people, most of whom serve under the Israeli military’s central supply center in the Technology and Logistics Division (ATL). In total, 2,400 soldiers assisted in looting operations.
The Israeli army looted nearly $25 million worth of money and gold artifacts from the Palestinians across the Gaza Strip since the breakout of the war, according to Gaza Media Office.
On one occasion, Israeli forces stole around $1 million from the private residence of a Hamas brigade commander. The unit has also organized dozens of secret operations in southern Lebanon to locate and seize stockpiles of weapons and ammunition belonging to Hezbollah’s elite Radwan force.
They also used these looting operations to familiarize themselves with the terrain and prepare for large-scale ground operations, the report said.
The Israeli military has provided the unit with bank machines to count the “mountains of cash” confiscated during looting operations, alongside scales for estimating the value of gold bars and jewelry taken from Lebanese and Gazan homes.
According to the report, the cash, gold, and other valuables are then transferred in secured vehicles to the Israeli army’s main cash desk section in Tel Aviv before being deposited in the Bank of Israel.
Israel has been restricting humanitarian aid delivery to the Gaza strip and now there are reports of regime recruiting thugs to loot aid trucks.
The regime has so far stolen around $28 million in cash from Gaza and Lebanon.
The looting also includes the seizure of 180,000 items of weaponry, including anti-aircraft missiles, drones, advanced anti-tank missiles of various ranges, thousands of explosive charges, standard rifles, sniper rifles, military radios, compasses, binoculars, night vision devices, uniforms, shoes, dozens of vehicles, and even collectors’ treasures such as French rifles from the 1930s and rare, valuable pistols used by Hezbollah resistance fighters.
The Zionist forces did not stop at Gaza and Lebanon but also found their way to Syria after the fall of Bashar al-Assad in December. They took several T-55 tanks, anti-tank missiles, large Schwaz charges, Kalashnikov rifles, and considerable amounts of ammunition.
