Caracas, March 11 (RHC)-- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Monday that ExxonMobil is involved in the terrorist acts that tried to destabilize the country during the presidential elections and referred to the existing evidence of the conspiracy against the oil company Chevron.
“ExxonMobil moved a lot of money to try to destabilize Venezuela on July 28, 29 and 30,” said the president, adding that ExxonMobil is “a company that is an enemy of the people of Venezuela and their right to happiness.”
Maduro denounced that the company gave him money to support the representative of the Venezuelan extreme right Edmundo González.
Referring to the existence of sufficient evidence, the president alluded to the intervention made by the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, who presented a document on “how Chevron was the victim of a lot of money from ExxonMobil to destroy its investments, while the latter intends to seize the oil in the Venezuelan Atlantic, which is yet to be delimited.”
“ExxonMobil is at the center of an operation of revenge against the people of Venezuela; and persecution and extermination against Chevron,” said the Venezuelan leader, adding that Chevron has been in Venezuela for more than 100 years.
Insisting that they are not harming us and that Venezuela will continue to move forward and grow, the head of state added that “our national goal is to break the dependence on resources that come from hydrocarbons; that they are part of the resources, but with an economy that produces goods and services, as well as the satisfaction of needs without depending on oil.”
In the secret and classified document that came into our hands, and which in turn reached the president of the United States, it is part of “the multimillionaire lobby to destroy the Chevron versions in Venezuela and destroy American and European investments, trying to harm Venezuelans.”
“No one can stop Venezuela,” said the president, also referring to the fact that ExxonMobil is a company that is an enemy of the Venezuelan people.
