President Maduro called his Salvadoran counterpart, Nayib Bukele, "a Nazi-fascist."
Caracas, March 28 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro denounced the kidnapping of Venezuelan migrants in El Salvador this Thursday, during a visit to Miranda state. He said that, to date, the regime of President Nayib Bukele has not published a list of the more than 200 Venezuelans kidnapped in the Central American nation.
The complaint comes as the Bukele administration's secrecy regarding the legal and human situation of imprisoned Venezuelans persists. "It's been 12 days since they were kidnapped, and El Salvador hasn't released a list of the people it has held in prison. What do you call that? Democracy? Justice? That's called Nazi-fascism. Bukele is a Nazi-fascist. It's that simple," the president stated.
During the inauguration of a Popular Government Chamber, the head of state revealed that Venezuelan lawyers filed a writ of habeas corpus before Salvadoran courts, "and neither the lawyers nor their clients have been given access to the prison," he asserted. The president linked these events to the interventionist policy of the international far right against Venezuela.
The Ortega Group, a human rights law firm, filed a legal action demanding the immediate release or a fair trial for the detained compatriots. The migrants were transferred from the United States to Cecot, a Salvadoran mega-prison designed for gang members, where they are held without due process.
President Maduro emphasized that these actions strengthened the resilience of the Venezuelan people and their commitment to defending sovereignty.
The head of state called for the consolidation of People's Power as a defense against external aggression and internal destabilization. He noted that an organized community represents the best defense against the plans of the opposition and its international allies.
