Buenos Aires, February 19 (RHC-teleSUR) -- A march convened Wednesday marking one month since prosecutor Alberto Nisman was found dead is part of a political operation against the government, Argentinian prosecutor Graciela Camaño told teleSUR English.

“While there is a group of five prosecutors who called for this march, there is another group of at least 74 prosecutors who signed a statement of solidarity with the prosecutor (Viviana Fein) who is conducting the investigation into the death of Dr Nisman,” Camaño said Wednesday.

Camaño went on to explain the reasons why she would not take part of the march. “They are giving out the perception that this march will pay homage to Dr. Nisman, but I am convinced that this is false, because they are executing a political operation on the back of his death, and another reason I will not attend is that relatives of those who committed genocide in Argentina have announced that they will attend,” Ms. Camaño firmly stated.

Although Nisman’s ex-wife, Sandra Arroyo Salgado, had asked for a stop to the "politicizing" of Nisman’s death, opposition political parties endorsed the march, which was heavily promoted in the monopolized mass media in the days leading up to it.

All opposition parties asked summoned people to attend the march without "political gimmicks." While there is no official figure of how many people attended the march, it has not been the mass demonstration opposition media had predicted.
