Vatican City, May 29 (RHC) -– Pope Francis received Uruguay’s charismatic former president, Jose Mujica, on Thursday at the Vatican, according to a report by Telesur news channel.
This was the second time the two international figures have met. Mujica and the Argentinian head of the Catholic Church spoke in strict privacy for around 40 minutes, according to the Vatican, after which there was no statement. The 80-year-old former head of state was accompanied by his wife, Lucia Topolansky.
