Panama City, July 24 (RHC)-- The lifting of the U.S. trade restrictions imposed on Cuba for over half a century could affect the regional and global market, said Panamanian institutional logistics expert Carlos Gonzalez.

In statements to the Panamanian newspaper La Estrella, Gonzalez highlighted that Cuba has a privileged position at the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico and is a point of convergence of all maritime routes in the Caribbean, as well as developing the ports of Mariel and Santiago de Cuba.

Carlos Gonzalez said that with an end to unjust U.S. blockade, Cuba would become a strong competitor in the field of port and tourist services, something that Panama should take into account.
