Sanaa, August 6 (RHC)-- Eight more people have been killed in a fresh airstrike by the Saudi Arabia on Yemen’s northwestern Hajjah province. Several other people were also injured in the Saudi bombing that targeted the province’s Meissar area, Yemen's al-Masirah television network reported late Wednesday.
Multiple raids were also carried out on the border regions of the province. Saudi jets also attacked residential areas in the central province of Ma'rib. Earlier in the day, Saudi warplanes blitzed regions in the southeastern province of al-Bayda and the capital city Sa’ada.
Also on Wednesday, Ansarullah fighters and allied army units carried out retaliatory attacks against Saudi military sites in the southwestern border region of Najran. Yemeni media outlets repoted that a Saudi military helicopter was downed by Yemeni air defenses in the district of Harad in Hajjah province.
According to the United Nations, the conflict in the impoverished country has killed nearly 4,000 people, nearly half of them civilians, since late March.
