Washington, August 26 (RHC)-- The Black Lives Matter movement in the United States held protests in at least 14 cities Tuesday to draw attention to what organizers are calling the national crisis of violence against trans-gender women.
A t least 17 trans-gender women have been murdered in the U.S. so far this year. The majority are trans women of color. Tuesday night, crowds gathered for rallies in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Nashville and other cities, chanting "Say Her Name" and reciting the names of trans women killed this year.
