Mexico City, Sept 18 (teleSUR-RHC)-- Acapulco is today Mexico's most dangerous city with a murder rate of 107 per 100,000 and the death toll keeps rising as police attended Thursday an emergency call in the tourist port city after shots were heard and upon arrival to the scene of the crime they found one person executed and a mass grave with seven bodies.

The state's attorney general's office confirmed the findings and said that in the clandestine grave they found the remains of five men and two women.

According to Reforma and other news outlets, neighbors of the area known as Colonia Panoramica called police on Wednesday at about 11:30 p.m. local time, but officials did not respond to the emergency call until the following morning.

When they arrived, they found the body of a man who had been shot several times.  The police investigators found scattered clothing and decided to bring sniffing dogs to the scene who led the officers to the mass grave.  The attorney general's office said an investigation is underway to identify the bodies and to determine the causes of their deaths.

Acapulco is a world famous tourist beach in the state of Guerrero, where almost a year ago the Ayotzinapa students were violently attacked and 43 of them forcibly disappeared.

Since then, the federal attorney general's office (PGR) began looking for the students and discovered over 60 mass graves with at least 129 bodies, none of which belonged to the Ayotzinapa teacher trainees.
