Ramallah, January 19 (RHC)-- A young Palestinian has lost his life after an Israeli settler in a car ran over him in the West Bank amid relentless tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In one incident on Monday, an Israeli settler ran over two Palestinian young men riding on a motorbike in an area near Salfeet city, killing one and injuring the other.
Earlier in the day, Israeli forces opened fire on a Palestinian over an alleged stabbing incident south of Jerusalem. The condition of the Palestinian who sustained gunshot wounds is unknown.
Since October 2015, at least 162 Palestinians and over two dozen Israelis have been killed as tensions rose after the Israeli regime imposed restrictions in August on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has expressed concern over the Israeli forces excessive use of violence and “extrajudicial killing” of Palestinians.
