Lima, April 11 (RHC-teleSUR), -- Congress member Kenji Fujimori has received the highest number of votes in Peru’s election despite being implicated in major drug trafficking scandals. According to CPI exit polls, over 500h th,000 Peruvians voted for the younger brother of presidential front-runner Keiko Fujimori.

As the most popular member, Fujimori will become the next president of Congress, raising concern over the presence of narco-candidates in Peru’s political system. Over the past 10 years, Fujimori has been linked to various drug trafficking cases – both directly and through his associates.

The latest figures from the United Nations rank Peru as the world's second largest producer of cocaine, second only to Colombia.
